What is st adjutor?

St. Adjutor (also known as St. Adjutus or St. Ayou) was a French knight who is venerated as a Christian martyr. Legend has it that he was born deaf and mute but was miraculously cured by the baptismal waters. He was a brave soldier and fought in the first crusade with the army of King Louis VII of France.

According to tradition, St. Adjutor saved the king's life during a battle with the Saracens by carrying him on his back across a river. He also saved many other soldiers from drowning during the same battle. After his return from the crusade, he lived as a hermit near Vernon, France, and became known for his miracles of healing and intervention.

St. Adjutor's feast day is celebrated on May 30 in the Roman Catholic Church. He is often invoked as the patron saint of swimmers, boaters, and sailors, due to his legendary rescue of drowning soldiers.
